The interview conference

[ Messages ] [ Concerns ] [ Accommodations ] [ Schedule ]

The IMB is selective regarding overseas personnel; however, all qualified applicants will be invited to an ISC/Journeyman interview conference as a continuation of the interview process. The primary purpose of the interview conference is to help the applicant and the IMB answer two basic questions: 1) is God leading me to serve in international missions through the IMB at this time, and 2) if so, where does God want me to go? Most applicants attending conference will be matched with an overseas assignment, but some will decide not to move forward in the application process. The interview conference helps the applicant, and the IMB, to make better decisions about future overseas service.

The conference begins on a Tuesday evening with dinner, and concludes on the following Friday afternoon. Participants should anticipate arrival in Richmond on Tuesday early enough to arrive at ILC for dinner at 5:00 PM. Departure is generally on Saturday, though in some case participants stay over to Sunday morning in order to take advantage of significant airline discounts.

The actual cost of transportation, meals and housing expenses for the meeting will be provided.

The conference program, conducted by members of the IMB staff, is designed to provide information about the ISC, Journeyman and Masters Programs and current job requests overseas. Participants will be asked to identify job preferences at this time.

What are we looking for in the application?

Only those with strong qualifications and the high potential for successful missionary service will move forward after conference. How does one know if their full application has good potential for IMB service? Take a look at some stronger qualifications. Take a look at some stronger qualifications.
