Initial contact:
There are many ways to begin the missionary
screening process, for all three channels of short-term service.
- The first choice is to fill out the
Information Form online >> Get
Started
- Call (800) 789-GoYe (4693) press 2, and
then 1 to leave a
message requesting more information. Please give your full name, phone
number, e-mail address and snail mail address. But, check
the FAQs first!
- Write to journeyman@imb.org
and ask questions about qualifications or the process, before completing the
Information Form online. Check the FAQs first!
No Web access?
- We
encourage those applicants with no Web access to go to their public library (or Kinkos, an Internet cafe,
a friend's house) and use their Internet connection to do
two things:
- Sign up for an e-mail account
through Juno, mail.com,
yahoo,
etc. Preliminary application materials utilize e-mail to its fullest extent!
- Go to our web-based Information Form
and complete it online.
- For those with e-mail but without personal
web access, electronic documents sent as e-mail attachments may be used if
they are unable to utilize a public library Internet connection.
- Perhaps sign up for free Internet access at www.juno.com
- Snail mail requests for information should be sent to:

The starter packet of the application process
The online Information Form should be completed at your earliest convenience. We will take a look at
your qualifications, skills and abilities.
Qualified individuals will be contacted
regarding their next step in the screening process. The remainder of the application packet
should be returned closer to the time that you desire to move ahead
toward screening conference.

for on the form ...
- Current contact information
- Marital status
- Children, and ages
- Social Security number and passport
information
- Church membership and years active
- Previous overseas experience
- Educational history
- Employment history
- Skills and abilities that you will utilize
overseas
- Certifications—RN, teaching, ESL, etc.
- Regional and job preferences, at this point
in time
- Dates and length of availability
- Two passport-style photos (these are not for getting
your
passport)
- Country of citizenship or permanent residency
- Evangelism experience and training received
- Languages spoken other than English
Medical issues
Preliminary medical
clearance must be secured before an invitation to screening conference is
extended.
Applicants must understand early that excessive
weight is a medical issue. If you sense there may be a medical concern,
remember that delays in getting information to our medical office will delay
your invitation to screening conference.
