Initial contact:

There are many ways to begin the missionary screening process, for all three channels of short-term service.

  • The first choice is to fill out the Information Form online  >> Get Started
  • Call (800) 789-GoYe (4693) press 2, and then 1 to leave a message requesting more information. Please give your full name, phone number, e-mail address and snail mail address. But, check the FAQs first!
  • Write to journeyman@imb.org and ask questions about qualifications or the process, before completing the Information Form online. Check the FAQs first!

No Web access?

  • We encourage those applicants with no Web access to go to their public library (or Kinkos, an Internet cafe, a friend's house) and use their Internet connection to do two things:
    • Sign up for an e-mail account through Juno, mail.com, yahoo, etc. Preliminary application materials utilize e-mail to its fullest extent!
    • Go to our web-based Information Form and complete it online.
  • For those with e-mail but without personal web access, electronic documents sent as e-mail attachments may be used if they are unable to utilize a public library Internet connection.
  • Perhaps sign up for free Internet access at www.juno.com
  • Snail mail requests for information should be sent to:
The ISC/Journeyman Mobilization Team, IMB
P.O. Box 6767
Richmond, VA 23230-0767

The starter packet of the application process

The online Information Form should be completed at your earliest convenience. We will take a look at your qualifications, skills and abilities.

Qualified individuals will be contacted regarding their next step in the screening process. The remainder of the application packet should be returned closer to the time that you desire to move ahead toward screening conference.

Medical issues

Preliminary medical clearance must be secured before an invitation to screening conference is extended.

Applicants must understand early that excessive weight is a medical issue. If you sense there may be a medical concern, remember that delays in getting information to our medical office will delay your invitation to screening conference.

Check the "Questions" page for other issues that could cause delays.
