Manila

God did not call me to the “10-40” window. The place where I serve has had missionaries for decades. Regardless, over 95% of my target group does not have a personal relationship with Christ. I am referring to the hundreds of thousands of college students here in Manila , Philippines .

This is a harvest field in every since of the word. The students often eagerly respond to the gospel. They are simply waiting to hear—waiting to find what religion, personal success or human relationships cannot give them. They are waiting for someone like you to tell them how to know God personally.

God is using missionaries (ISC/Journeyman/Career), Filipino evangelists and summer missionaries to reach these students. A new semester began in June, so our ministry is now going on in full force. Filipinos hang out in groups, and that is how we present the gospel to them. Words cannot express the joy of sharing with eight or nine college students who have never known of God’s saving grace.

Our prayer is that God will begin a church-planting movement on the college campuses of Manila . We want students to evangelize and disciple other students.

Most Filipinos desire to work abroad once they graduate. Many of our students will be scattered all over the world within a few years. We are praying for a movement of God that will send Filipino missionaries all over Asia .

Please remember these requests in your prayers:

  • Pray that we will have divine appointments—that we will continually meet those students who are ready to receive Christ.
  • Pray for strong student leaders on our campuses. Pray that they will boldly evangelize and lead their own Bible studies.
  • Pray that God will call new workers to this field to replace departing Journeymen.
