Postcards
from the field
Brazil
Many times I found myself
praying for and with the
Brazilians. At one retreat
I attended, a seminary
friend happened to show
up and I could tell he
was down. We talked for
a while and I prayed with
him. His girlfriend was
sitting somewhere across
the room and I felt I
was intruding on them
somehow, yet through the
crying and tears, once
we were done he just said
"Thank you, I needed
to talk with someone but
didn't realize it and
God brought me here for
exactly this renewal."
It really touched my heart
that God chose to use
me in what I thought was
insignificant yet crucial
in his life.
Many
other times he needed
to hang out with someone
other than his church
members, we often got
a group together and had
some of the BEST times,
laughing, praying, playing
games--and for him, he
said so often he missed
just hanging out with
friends.
Also,
having Bible study times
with the MK's every morning
was very special to me
personally, a time where
we prayed for each other,
unreached peoples, other
missionaries and studying
the Word together. Being
with these young believers
taught me much and challenged
me in new and exciting
ways. I not only ministered
to them, but they to me.
