The Application
Process
Contact
Office of Mission Personnel
Take the first step toward missions
by contacting the IMB Office
Of Mission Personnel, Initial
Contacts Coordinators at 1-888-422-6461.
Our coordinators will get acquainted
with you in a brief telephone
interview, answer your questions,
explain service options and application
procedures. You will complete
an Information Form that provides
basic biographical data.
Work
with Candidate Consultant
After submitting an Information
Form, you are assigned
a Candidate Consultant to work
with you throughout the application
process.
Attend
Candidate Conference
At the Candidate Conference you meet with Regional Office and other IMB
Staff, have personal interviews, research job details and undergo medical examinations.
Final
Preparation of Application
During this step you finalize written materials and distribute reference
questionnaires. The IMB doctors review your medical
reports.
Application
Presented to Trustees
The Candidate Consultant presents your application to the Personnel Committee
of the IMB Trustees for approval.
Appointment
Week
Once approved, candidates attend
Appointment Week to meet with
Trustees and IMB Staff. You
receive additional information
related to life overseas, general
orientation and participate
in an Appointment Service.
Orientation
and Departure
Orientation includes the entire
family and is held at the
Missionary Learning Center
in Rockville, Virginia. Furnished
quarters, meals, child care,
and schooling are provided
during the seven-week session.
Departure date for overseas
is usually two weeks following
completion of orientation.
