Following the Spirit’s lead
We had a most
exciting time with our volunteer team using Wade Akin’s book
Pioneer Evangelism. One group of six volunteers went to three villages
where three of our church leaders felt that God wanted them to plant
a church.
In the village
of Konkongtbon, the team found that the Holy Spirit was working.
While the volunteers were trying to share the gospel with one lady,
she said, “I’m ready to accept Jesus right now; just
tell me what I need to do.”
On the first
day, two young men came to Jesus, and every day after that they
accompanied the team through the village. Sometimes they would tell
team that they “didn’t need to go to a certain house
because they had already been there, and everyone accepted Jesus
as their Savior,” but at other times they would say “please,
come to this house-there is already a group waiting for you.”
There were 300-400
people at the first worship service, and almost a year later there
are still large numbers in attendance at this village church. We
are so thankful for the group of volunteers that came and were obviously
used by God in this small village of northern Togo.
