Update from East Asia field personnel

Thank you so much for your prayers for our health, safety and fruitfulness. God worked in incredible ways to advance His kingdom. All of our concerns (the hotel that threatened to not let us distribute, the police watching our activity) were taken care of by our Father.

We are grateful for all the volunteer teams who came from America, Singapore and Taiwan to put the good news in the hands of the Chinese people. Here are the results:

• 26,346 evangelistic packets and 19,447 full Bibles were distributed in 37 days
• 12 people were added to the family. 8 Chinese and 4 Thai. There were 3 baptisms.

“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom” Psalm 145:3

The figures are overwhelming but they do not represent the smiles, the “thank yous,” the joy of seeing people reborn, and the joy of seeing so many receptive to the Word. It was truly a blessing to see people walk up to a volunteer and say “I want to know more about Jesus, or how do I become a Christian?” Many people received a personal witness, so we do not know how many later opened their hearts to Him. There were teachers, scientists, and influential people from all over the country who took packages and asked questions. Pray for the new believers to find church homes, and to grow in the knowledge of who He is and how much He deeply loves them. Pray for God to continue to reveal Himself to the seekers.

Please be in prayer for the churches that are considering working with us, for teams that are forming now, and for teams that are planning to come. Ask that God’s perfect will be done and that the team leaders have His wisdom.
Pray for:

• Our leaders as they make decisions that influence the work here. Ask God to give them His wisdom.
• Work in Macau. Ask God to give His wisdom to those who want to do the work there.
• Personnel as they meet with the SCP Hong Kong and SCP Macau partners later this month. Ask that God’s will be done in all the meetings.
• For the granting of a new Thai visa for a worker.
• SCP team to remain bonded in love and unity. (Romans 15: 5-6)
• That God will provide Scriptures for distribution. We only have enough to last through the summer, and we need not just more copies, but, for God to supply a consistent source for those Scriptures.
