Factory workers ask: ‘Why not begin (Bible study) now?’
Missionaries
Keith and Carolyn Hocutt and their 14- and 15-year-old daughters
had been searching for opportunities to share the gospel in Peru.
In
July, they worked with International World Changers for a week of
evangelism. In August, the Hocutts began chronological Bible storying
groups in a sweater factory in Chiquian every Tuesday afternoon
and in a pueblo every Thursday night.
When
Carolyn visited people in the factory to ask if, and when, they
would like to begin the Bible study, the workers began talking rapidly
about what was feasible.
Carolyn
missed most of the conversation, but they finally looked at her,
slowed down their talking, and said, “Why not begin now?”
Praise
God for the factory workers’ open hearts! Pray that as they
hear the gospel they will receive it as truth and will rush to share
it with neighbors.
