What's Christmas?

“What’s Christmas?” That was the question of a school official in an extremely remote place in China when a Christian worker asked about bringing a team of U.S. university students to visit during Christmastime. Now both he and the people in his community know about Christmas-and the Savior who is at the center of the celebration! Last December, a team of U.S. students weathered five flights, one ferry ride and a 20-hour bus ride to reach the community. Once there, they participated in various cultural exchanges and friendship building activities.

The highlight of their visit was when they had opportunity to share the story of Christmas at a local school. As one of them explained the plan of salvation, tears rolled down the faces of teachers who were hearing for the first time about the love of Jesus Christ. The American students realized that in sharing Christmas with those who had never heard, they had also received a tremendous blessing: perhaps their best Christmas gift ever!
