Prayer Walking Adventure - #100888
(Prayer Walking • Cultural Exchange )

Location Pacific Rim
Description
For a people living in darkness, Christ is their only hope, yet many of the Lasa have never met a born again believer, let alone heard the Gospel. The only way this darkness can be penetrated is through prayer, and you could be the one to carry the light to the Lasa. You will enter villages that have never had a believer walk on its rickety planks and pray for families who have never known anything but darkness.
How this job relates to field strategy
It is our goal to engage the Lasa with the Gospel and to begin work in new villages throughout the state. Because we believe that for this to happen among our people, there must first be prayer. In bringing in volunteers to pray for the salvation of the Lasa, we hope to see barriers broken down and doors opened, as well as to see our fellow believers become stronger prayer advocates for the Lasa.

There will be some boat travel as well.
Health care facilities available Health care is excellent and inexpensive.
Travel, Location and Culture

Tank tops and midriff tops are not acceptable. The capital city has a population of 300,000 with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants. Some of the villages that will be visited are quite poor.

Additional information
The Lasa live along the coast of a large island; their homes are generally built on stilts out over the ocean, which allows for a great view and inexpensive plumbing. Having fled the fighting and poverty in their own country, they find refuge here. Most Lasa have never had a relationship with a true believer, let alone heard the Gospel. They are entrenched in darkness, & it often seems that there is no hope for them to find the Savior. Prayer is the light that brings hope to these dark villages; through prayer doors are open for the Gospel. As volunteers come and pray & share their lives & hearts with the Lasa, the Lasa will see what it means to follow Jesus and be drawn to his light. You will walk on rickety boards through these oceanfront villages, seeing the filth, poverty and sin that keep the Lasa mired in the muck. During this time you will be able to love on the Lasa children, to pray for the sick and hopefully to see God move in a mighty way in the hardened hearts of the Lasa.
