Description
Come help a national missionary/evangelist open doors in new villages as well as expand existing work using your medical knowledge and experience. Physicians, nurses, dentists and eye doctors are needed to minister to the people of the Balkans. You will be asked to bring a supply of predetermined meds as well as other items (including pain relief, antibiotics, vitamins, etc.), eyeglasses, simple examination tools, and a love of Christ to share with those in physical and spiritual need.

Total on field cost PER PERSON $515 + airfare

Additional Team Cost Description: More than 8 is welcome; however, a vehicle must be rented increasing cost by $20 per person/day.
Instructions for collecting field costs: Detailed accountability is the standard. Two options for in-country field costs: 1) Cash funds delivered to the Balkans Team upon arrival to handle payment for team costs. 2) Balkans Team can assist US Team treasurer.
Health Considerations
Health conditions that could prevent a volunteer from accepting this assignment Those with debilitating diseases and the infirmed are not recommended for this volunteer trip due to the possible strenuous nature of the request.
Factors that could influence the volunteer's ability to do this job The terrain in the Balkans is mountainous and may well include a good bit of walking. Appropriate walking shoes and attire are suggested. Travelers can check the latest health information with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. A website at http://www.cdc.gov/travel/index.htm gives the most recent health advisories, immunization recommendations or requirements, and advice on food and drinking water safety for regions and countries.

Travel, Location and Culture
Geographic Settings The terrain may be mountainous and some villages may be remote while other activities may be done in small towns. Additional information
BUDGET Typical total expenses are about $110 per in-country day per US team member. This includes usual lodging, food, in-country transportation, and local support. Some items may incur extra expense. These include additional nights in the capital city, upgrade in accommodations, and the requirement of extra payments as larger teams require additional transportation costs. Prices and costs do not include transportation to and from the field. We are experiencing a major change in the exchange rate of US dollars to local currency.
