Description
Come to India and be a tourist. But, come with intent. Intend to share the love of Jesus in a country where 99.99% of the people are living and dying without knowing who He is. While touring the state, you will walk with prayer through temples and mosques; you will encounter the lost in villages and cities; you will share the light of the world in a dark land.

Health conditions that could prevent a volunteer from accepting this assignment Depending on time of year, it may be VERY hot.
Factors that could influence the volunteer's ability to do this job Depending on time of year, it may be very hot here. There will be some walking, and there may be stairs. Some travel will be by car, and the roads are not always perfect.
Health care facilities available Excellent health care, clinics and hospitals, is available in several cities.
Travel, Location and Culture
Geographic Settings Hot and dry most of the year, with cooler climate in the winter months. July and August can be very wet. Some of the trip will be in large cities, while part of the time will be in smaller towns and villages.
Other (customs, clothing, shopping, etc.) Clothing for men would include comfortable slacks and shirts. Shorts can be worn but not in temples or mosques. Women should wear loose shirts or blouses that cover the hips and should not wear camisole strap tops. Pants are fine, but shorts are never acceptable. Long skirts are also okay. Walking shoes should be comfortable. Shoes will be removed in many places, so this should be kept in mind. Shopping is available for clothing and souvenirs.
Available Housing Housing will be hotels. They will be clean and basic, but not like western hotels. Beds are not usually soft, and bathrooms will be adequate but may not be what you are used to. Rooms will have air conditioning.
